The thought that emotions are only a warning light was impressive to me because for so many years I was taught to shove my emotions down and therefore I learned to fear them and what would happen if I let them out. So like you said Tera, you grew up always trying to be aware of how your parents felt or how they were going to react, that you always just hid your true self. That resonated with me so much.
