Tanya’s healing journey began after the loss of her first husband when she joined a widows’ support group. Her involvement inspired her to start her own group, and since 1999, she has participated in and led various support communities.
In 2004, Tanya attended her first experiential weekend, which sparked her passion for healing retreats. She has since attended, staffed, and led numerous events. In 2008, Tanya co-created and co-led North Star’s Women of Worth (WoW) conference—a two-day experiential retreat for women married to men experiencing same-sex attraction. This annual conference continued for six years. In 2012, she launched North Star’s Couple’s Retreat, a week-long event focused on enhancing intimacy, understanding, and communication within marriages.
In 2014, Tanya co-founded Toolbox Healing/Daughters of Light, an organization offering experiential healing for women. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Communication from American University in Washington, DC. Tanya is also a skilled web developer, graphic designer, and certified life coach.
